A NEW WAY TO SERVE

Teen Serve

Teen Serve is a serving experience at Lake Geneva Youth Camp where teens, ages 14-18, serve our campers through food service and program support so campers and other volunteers can have a life-changing experience in Christ! Teens will get their hands dirty during the day and be challenged intellectually at night.  Together we will explore what it means to follow the real Jesus as disciple-makers. Not only will teens learn what it looks like to serve and disciple like Jesus, but they will also build an incredible community to create memories and friendships for a lifetime!

TEEN SERVE 1 > JUNE 8 - 20 (2 Weeks) 

TEEN SERVE 2 > JUNE 22 - 27 (1 Week) 

TEEN SERVE 3 > JULY 6 - 18 (2 Weeks)

TEEN SERVE 4 > JULY 20 - 25 (1 Week)

* Teens have the opportunity to serve for a maximum of Two Teen Serve sessions per summer.

* All sessions have 22 slots available.

Teen Serve Progression Pathway: Building Servant Leaders 

Year 1: Laying the Foundation

Learning to Serve

Your Teen Serve journey begins here! Year 1 is all about learning the fundamentals of service while building strong friendships and deepening your relationship with Jesus. 

  • Learn to Serve: Hands-on experience in food service and program support, learning what it means to serve others selflessly. 

  • Explore Faith: Engage in daily devotionals and evening sessions focused on basic Christian principles, laying a strong foundation for your walk with Christ. 

  • Build Community: Connect with peers, form meaningful friendships, and find a place where you can grow both spiritually and socially. 

  • Interview Process: Must submit a light application with basic information and complete a Zoom Meeting with the Co-Director of Programs that oversees Teen Serve. 

Focus: Humility, Service, and Compassion

Year 2: Leading by Example

Building Your Faith

*Theme: "Put Your Faith into Action" 


Year 2 is for returning participants who are ready to take their service and faith to the next level. You’ve learned to serve, now it’s time to lead. 

  • Requirements: Must be a committed believer actively growing in your faith. Must have completed Year 1 in a previous summer. 

  • Serve as Leaders: Take on expanded roles like Cabin Leader-Support, and Head Kitchen Teen, putting your faith into action by serving campers directly. 

  • Discipleship Focus: Learn how to disciple younger campers and peers, modeling what it means to follow Jesus in every area of life. 

  • Interview Process: Must submit a formal application and complete a Zoom Interview with the Co-Director of Programs that oversees Teen Serve. 

Focus: Take Action and Build a Firm Foundation

Year 3: Stepping Up

Kingdom Movers

*Theme: "Servant Leaders, Kingdom Movers" 


Year 3 is where you step into leadership with more responsibility and intentionality. You’ve been equipped—now it’s time to lead with confidence and purpose. 

  • Selective Roles: While the goal is to create future cabin leaders, there will be more freedom to decide your role. Choose from specialized positions that align with your gifts and passions, such as Program Assistant, Worship Leader, or Recreation Lead. 

  • Leadership in Action: Serve as a “glorified gopher” assisting program directors and camp leadership in various capacities, gaining experience in ministry leadership. 

  • Disciple and Mentor: Mentor younger Teen Serve participants, helping them navigate their own faith and leadership journey. 

  • Preparation: Receive intentional training and mentorship designed to prepare you for future roles as camp summer staff or other ministry positions. 

  • Interview Process: Must submit a formal application and complete a Zoom Interview with the Co-Director of Programs that oversees Teen Serve and the department lead in whose department they intend to serve. 

Focus: Leadership, Discipleship, and Kingdom Impact

Teen Serve
Join us on this journey of service, faith, and leadership—and discover the joy of becoming a disciple who makes disciples.

Throughout the Teen Serve training experience teens will be challenged relationally, physically, and spiritually! Below is a list of qualifications we are looking for in applicants as we walk through the interview process…  

  • Confess Jesus as Lord and Savior  

  • I have memorized Philippians 2:3-11 and can explain what it means  

  • Be a person who is seeking to run AFTER Jesus (not perfectly, but these characteristics are present and moldable)  

    • Available – Willing to set aside 1 to 2 whole weeks of the summer without interruption 

    • Faithful – Willing to do or process whatever is asked and accomplish it with excellence  

    • Teachable – Able to hold a humble posture and be open to constructive feedback  

    • Encouraging – Able to uphold camp expectations and give exhortation in our community  

    • Responsive – Able to process, grow and apply what is being trained in Leadership  

A teen preferably….  

  • Has previously attended an LGYC program camp, or served in a camp setting  

  • Is involved in a local church youth ministry  

  • Can articulate the G.O.S.P.E.L.  

Cost: $100 Per Week Serving 

We ask that each teen would invest $50 of their own money (not from mom or dad) in order to be part of Teen Serve. We believe that personal financial investment leads to a higher value on the return of that investment.

  • Room & Board   

  • Epic Weekend Event 

  • Leadership Material and Teaching   

  • Supervisors that exhort and exemplify Jesus 

  • Qualified Teachers/Speakers

We are looking for Teens who are willing to serve humbly, love well, and dive deep into their relationship with God.
